Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

Little Red Wagon Challenge #90 - Musical Notes

This was Rosanne's week to choose the challenge for us over at Little Red Wagon, and she wants us to make a card that features musical notes!  And, well, I hope my card is acceptable but, while it has musical notes on it, they took the back seat to color, color, COLOR!!!  I am in love with the citrus-y color combination I used on this card, and I hope you enjoy it too!  Here is my card . . .

Supply List:

  • Card stock - DCWV
  • Patterned paper - My Minds Eye
  • Gems - Prima
  • Sentiment - SRM Stickers
  • Stickles 'Diamond'
  • Ribbon - Grosgrain, purchased at a yard sale, no identifying marks!

Tools Used:
  • Cricut Expression and Walk In My Garden (WIMG), Elegant Edges (EE) and Songbird (SB) cartridges
  • Fiskars 'Apron Lace' Border Punch
  • Scissors, craft knife, rotary cutter and ruler

Cricut Cuts:
  • For card base (card stock):  WIMG cartridge, 'card2' set at 5"
  • For patterned paper base:  WIMG cartridge, 'card1' set at 5" (Note:  The  design in the bottom of the patterned paper was already cut from the paper from a previous project.  I arranged the paper so the Cricut would cut the square in that spot, and it worked . . . I think it's really cute!
  • For 'sing' cut from patterned paper with musical notes:  SB cartridge 'sing' using Bird feature set at 1/2 inch
  • For frames for sentiment:  EE cartridge, 'Swirl1-s' using oblong feature set at 1 1/2" (pink) and 1 3/4" (patterned)

And that is my card!  As I said before, I love the citrusy colors of orange, lemon, lime, raspberry pink and strawberry pink! Although the musical notes may not be the 'feature' of the card, they are there and have a purpose.  Thanks for coming by, and come back soon, because I have one more card to share today for another challenge.  Blessings, Becky
