Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

2 Sketches 4 You - Laura's Sketch 40

You know, it's strange how you can 'forget' something that you truly enjoy doing when you are in the midst of tough times. In the 9 months that I was away from cardmaking while my Dad was sick, I distanced myself from the craft, as well as the crafters. I didn't read papercrafting mags, or blogs, and grew farther and farther from it as time went on. Then in late October, after my Dad had passed and I'd had some time to rest and recuperate a bit, I started feeling the itch, and eventually started visiting my old blogging favorites. I think that was part of the healing process for me, too.

Now I'm back into cardmaking at almost full speed, and once again I am knowing that joy that comes from putting pretty things together to make something even better, and lovelier. And reading all the blogs and entering challenges once again is also bringing me a lot of enjoyment.

Such is the case with this card. I haven't made a card for 2 Sketches 4 You in close to a year, and using Laura's lovely sketch #40 was so much fun! Here's the sketch . . .

. . . and here is my take on the sketch . . .
