Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

CPS # 148 Sketch Challenge

Once again it's time for CPS's weekly sketch challenge.  I loved this sketch because it was so simple it was a challenge for me!  And I know that probably doesn't make sense, but I'm normally a frilly, fussy, 'more is more' cardmaker, and this sketch really made me work for it!  That said, I am really pleased with the outcome.  Here is the sketch . . .

And here is my take on the sketch; as you noticed, I did a more veretical card as opposed to a horizontal one . . .

And a spotlight pic . . .

{A side note:  You can't really tell it in the picture, but the texture and color of the embossing are almost identical to the color and texture of the ribbon - a really cool look!}
And my simple product list . . .

  • Cardstock - Bazzill
  • Patterned Paper - K&Company Designer Mat Pad "Roam"  (I'm loving these papers!)
  • Shimmery copper ribbon from my stash
  • Gems from Basic Grey 'bling it'
  • Sentiment stamped with Versamark ink, then heat embossed using Ranger 'Copper' embossing powders
  • Label cut with Cricut "Home Accents" cartridge

Do you see how easy that was?  But doing a simple card isn't really that easy for me, so I'm grateful for the challenge.  Thanks for visiting!  Becky
