Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

Christmas In July Continues . . . Unscripted Sketches # 115 plus Piggyback!

Merry Christmas in July once again, friends!  Can you believe that July is half over already?  I sure hope you have been enjoying all of the activities going on over at Unscripted Sketches!  As you know, one week of each month our challenge is our regular sketch but we add an optional 'piggyback' challenge.  This week, in honor of Christmas in July, our piggyback is to add Christmas gift wrap, tissue, etc. on your project.  Here is this week's sketch . . .

Now, I have to admit I forgot about the piggyback part of this challenge, so I didn't use any wrapping paper, and when I realized my mistake, I decided I didn't want to make another card, because I like this card, and besides the piggyback is optional anyway!!!  Here is my card . . .

Supply List:

  • Card blank (5x7") - Stampabilities
  • Green card stock - DCWV
  • Patterned paper - Recollections (Michaels)
  • Image - Flickr
  • Seam binding - Bluebird Lane Etsy shop
  • Stickles - 'Xmas Red', 'Green' and 'Frosted Lace'
  • Sentiment - SRM Press

Tools:
  • Computer and Ink Jet Printer
  • Scissors, craft knife, ruler and rotary cutter

Tips and Info:
  • Honestly, there isn't much!  This was such an easy card!
  • Bumped the image and sentiment up on foam dots for dimension
  • Cut small slit in side of card (fold) to pull the ribbon through.

And that is my card for this week!  Please don't forget to visit Unscripted Sketches on Tuesday for my mini-tutorial on making gift tags from #5 manila tags this coming Tuesday, July 19th!  Thanks, Becky
