Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

A New Card Challenge Blog . . . Card and a Half!

You know how I love a new cardmaking challenge blog, and I recently found out about a great one through the company Imaginesce on Facebook.  They asked us to go 'Like' Card and a Half, and I did . . . like it, I mean!  Here is their sketch for this month . . .

And here is my card based on the sketch . . .

Supply List:

  • Card stock - DCWV
  • Patterned papers - Prima 'Flights of Fancy' collection
  • Image - Little Birdie Blessings
  • Fabric flowers - Bo Bunny
  • Gold Bow - Anna Griffin (resin)
  • Sentiment - SRM Stickers
  • Vintage lace - my stash
  • Shimmer - Tattered Angels glimmer mist 'iridescent gold'
  • Brown ink - Stampabilities
  • Greenish gold ink - Anna Griffin

Tools:
  • Cricut Expression and Walk In My Garden cartridge
  • Computer and ink jet printer
  • Scissors, ruler, craft knife and rotary cutter

Tips and Hints:
  • Cricut cuts - For card base, card2 set at 5".  For patterned paper, card1 set at 5"
  • Inked edges of card and image with brown ink, inked fabric flower lightly with a greenish gold ink from Anna Griffin, then spritzed the whole thing with glimmer mist.
  • Popped the image and the resin bow up off the page using foam squares.

And there you have it!  My first project for a Card and a Half challenge!  I hope you have enjoyed your visit!  Come back soon, please, because you know I'll have something else to share soon!  Blessings, Becky
