Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

Our Creative Corner - Seasonal Celebration

This week's challenge over at Our Creative Corner is to make a 'seasonal' card, either for the 4th of July, or a Christmas in July card.  Now, its in the 90's here, and has been almost every day since mid May, so I went for Christmas, hoping it would give me the illusion of being cool at least!  Here is my card based on the challenge . . .

  • Burgundy card stock - Core Essentials by Core'dinations
  • Patterned paper - Recollections (Michaels)
  • Sentiment - SRM Press #51001 Happy Holidays
  • Gems - Prima
  • Black patent ribbon - Anna Griffin

  • Stickles 'Xmas Red', 'Frosted Lace', and 'Golden Rod'

  • Cricut Expression with Elegant Edges and Walk In My Garden cartridges
  • Computer and Ink Jet Printer
  • Scissors, Ruler, craft knife and Rotary Cutter

Cricut Cuts:
  • For card base:  Walk In My Garden cartridge, card2 set at 5"

  • For label (top): Elegant Edges cartridge, Sclop2-s set at 3 1/4"
  • Burgundy mat: Elegant Edges cartridge, Sclop2-s set at 3 1/4" using shadow feature

Thanks so much for joining me today!  Don't forget to come back on Saturday for more Christmas inspiration for this week's Unscripted Sketches post!  Blessings, Becky

This is a card after my own heart! I love the Santa image and the die cut panel detail behind it. It's a great layout and the added embellies complement your background paper. Sorry it took me so long to comment, I've been having major problems with Blogger...Thanks for playing with us at the OCC!
