Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

A Very Merry Christmas

It's been Christmas in July all month long, with Design Team duties at Unscripted Sketches and almost all the challenges having at least one week's challenge with a Christmas theme.  Of all the ones I've done tuns far, I love this one best!  Here are the two challenges for which I am entering this card . . .

And here is my card based on the challenges . . .

Supply List:
  • Base (kraft) card stock - The Paper Store (JoAnn)
  • Green card stock - The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
  • Patterned paper - Recollections (Michaels)
  • Image - Flickr
  • Chipboard - Basic Grey
  • Sentiment - SRM Stickers
  • Vintage lace and green grosgrain ribbon - estate sale
  • White ribbon flowers - Hobby Lobby
  • Vintage button and pearl - stash
  • Brown ink - Stampabilities (Hobby Lobby)
  • Red Ink - Anna Griffin
  • Queen's Gold Embossing Powder - Ranger Ink
  • Stickles 'Platinum' - Ranger Ink

Tools:
  • Cricut Expression and Elegant Edges cartridge
  • Cuttlebug and Musical Swirls embossing folder
  • Computer and ink jet printer
  • Scissors, craft knife, ruler and rotary cutter
  • Heat embossing tool

Cricut Cuts:
  • For image, using 'Center Point' feature, cut using 'Desgn1-s' set at 4 1/2" using Oblong feature
  • For green mat, cut using 'Desgn1-s' set at 4 3/4"

Heat Embossing:
  • I inked the chipboard star heavily with red ink, then coated it with Queen's Gold embossing powder.
  • Next I heat embossed it until it was just a little bit 'over done'.
  • Allow to cool.
  • Ink tips lightly with red ink, rubbing off excess.
  • Using finger, lightly touch points of star with Stickles to add a bit of glitter.

Thanks so much for visiting today!  Please leave a note to let me know you came!  Blessings, Becky
