Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

The Kraft Journal ... Challenge 94 ... Bangles and Bows

What do you think of when you see the words "Bangles and Bows"???  Well, I think girlie, feminine, sweet and pretty.  So when I saw this week's theme for The Kraft Journal, I knew that was what I wanted to do for my project.  So I went to Picasa and searched my collection of vintage images for one that was girlie and started from there.  Here is my project for this week's theme ...

What a cute and unique way to give a gift of cash!  And don't you love how I folded the bill so the recipient couldn't tell the denomination?  I'm sneaky like that!  Here are all of the details ....

Supplies:
  • Buff Scroll Postcard Shipping Tag - Kraft Outlet
  • Sheer ribbon, seam binding and beads - my stash
  • Clear plastic 'window' for money - Packaging from Tim Holtz "Ruler Ribbon"
  • Inkssentials 'Wonder Tape' for adhering 'window'
  • Sentiment sticker - SRM Stickers
  • Brown ink - Stampabilities

Tools:

  • Scissors and kraft knife
  • Computer and Ink Jet Printer

Tips:

  • When 'fussy cutting' a pair of small, pointed tip scissors are best. And remember, turn the paper, not the scissors.
  • Use a sharp kraft knife for cutting small bits and 'interior' cuts.
  • Don't be afraid to use unconventional products like packaging in your projects.

Now isn't that a sweet way to dress up a gift of cash?  I think anyone would love to receive a gift like that!  Thanks for visiting today, and don't forget to visit The Kraft Journal and participate in t his week's challenge.  Blessings,

PS ... I have some great news ... HUGE news ... coming up soon, so stay tuned for a big announcement within the next week or two!  B.
