Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

Daring Cardmakers and The Kraft Journal - Something Old, Something New Challenge

Once again, here I am with one card for two challenges!  Both Daring Cardmakers and The Kraft Journal challenged us to interpret the verse "Something Old, Something New (Something Borrowed, Something Blue)", and since using vintage images and vintage embellishments is my 'thing', this was a fun challenge for me!  Here is my card based on the challenges . . .

And here are the details . . .

Supply List:

  • Kraft card stock - The Paper Studio
  • Patterned paper - Webster's Pages, Spring Market 'Sweet Jam'
  • Sentiment - SRM Press #51013 "Congratulations"
  • Image from The Graphics Fairy
  • Black card stock -  Bazzill Basics
  • Chipboard, ivory ribbon and black velvet ric-rack from my stash
  • Pearl - Prima
  • Vintage lace purchased at an estate sale
  • Vintage black button from 1930's or 40's from my stash
  • Stamp (gold key) - Prima

Tools Used:
  • Cricut Expression with Walk In My Garden cartridge (card2 set at 5" and card1 set at 4 1/2")
  • Scissors, ruler, craft knife and rotary cutter
  • Computer and ink jet printer

How I met the challenges:
  • Vintage lace, button and image for the old
  • The polka dot paper, velvet ric-rack and chipboard add a more modern touch for the new

And there you have it!  I have had this image for a while, just waiting for a chance to use it, and I think it is perfect for this challenge.  It even comes in different colors, so I will probably use it over and over!  Thanks for visiting, and Blessings, Becky

How very sweet, Becky! I so love vintage goodies, too. That lace and the button completely stole my heart. Love that image from the Graphics Fairy, too. Thanks for joining us on another challenge at The Kraft Journal.
