Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

Poppies For Your Birthday

Before I even start, I want to apologize for my pictures!  It's raining cats and dogs (hallelujah!) so I can't go outside, and I left my good camera on for a while last night and the battery is dead and it won't charge, so I had to order a new one!  That means I brought out the old p&s camera and it's just not in the best shape!  That said, let's talk about challenges!  This card is for two challenges . . .

And here is my card based on the challenges . . .

Supply List:
  • Base card stock - The Paper Studio (Hobby Lobby)
  • Patterned paper - Echo Park
  • Vintage black rayon ribbon - my stash, another estate sale find
  • Image - found online, probably on Flickr
  • Sentiment - SRM Stickers

Tools Used:
  • Cricut Expression with Walk In My Garden (WIMG) and Elegant Edges (EE) cartridges
  • Computer and ink jet printer
  • Scissors, craft knife, rotary cutter, ruler

Cricut Cuts:
  • Card base:  WIMG cartridge, card2 set at 5"
  • Yellow gingham paper:  WIMG cartridge, card1 set at 5"
  • Label (multi colored paper):  EE cartridge, Heart2-s set at 4 1/4"

And there is my card!  I think it turned out lovely . . . I especially like the very traditional image with the less than traditional papers.  Thanks for visiting, and please come back soon!  Blessings, Becky

OMG Becky...I thought that you had stamped and coloured that image at first. I thought that the comp was done and dusted!!!! LOL. I was just about to give up hand colouring completely when I thought I might have to compete with that sort of standard!!!! It is a lovely card BTW.....TFS.
