Thanks for visiting!

Welcome! This is the place where I share my artsy and crafty projects. I am an evolving artist these days ... finding myself enjoying less of the cards and mini albums that I have made for years, and turning to art journaling and more artistic endeavors. I have always enjoyed some craft or other, and some of my earliest memories of my mother helping me make paper dolls and other crafts. I am now in my 60's and finding myself more passionately enjoying creating beautiful things and learning new skills and techniques and products.

While you are here I hope you will find inspiration and ideas for making your own projects, however any images or projects you find here are my personal property and should not be used for your own monetary gain, or for contests or challenges. Thank You!

At Last - A Couple of Challenges!

                                                                                                                                                             .
Well, the craft show season - for me at least - is over until next year, and am I ever glad!  The last few weeks have been particularly busy, with all my work making Christmasy items for the Christmas Craft Show, and with Thanksgiving just one week before the show.  But the show was a fair success, I've had a day to recover, and happily made the time for a couple of challenges before I start putting up my tree and wrapping gifts.

I chose to double up on challenges simply because they worked perfectly together!  Tuesday Taggers asked for a project with Santa Claus, and Little Red Wagon assigned a gift bag and/or gift tag.  I made TONS of tags for the craft show, so with all my practice of late, making a project for these challenges was a breeze!  Here is my Santa tag . . .

And here is all the info . . .

Products:

  • Tag base is a #5 manila tag (4 3/4" x 2 3/8")
  • Ribbon, tassel, ribbon bow,  eyelet lace and strip of gingham fabric is from my stash
  • Frame is Tattered Angels Glimmer Chips Framed Fonts
  • Patterned paper (pleated at top) is from a Die Cuts With a View "Prints For The Year" Ultimate Stack
  • Stickles 'Platinum'
  • Stampabilities Brown ink
  • Red and Green pigment ink - very old, no markings on pad
  • Image is from a file of Santa images purchased from Etsy vendor Magisplace

Tips, Tools and Techniques:
  • Inked all edges of tag with brown ink
  • Cut strip of patterned paper approximately 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" and inked all edges with brown ink.
  • Pleated by hand - no measuring, just folding, then inked creases with brown ink.  Using Glue Glider Pro and permanent adhesive, attached pleated paper to top of tag, leaving space for the hole at top.
  • Tore strip of red and white gingham fabric and wrapped around tag, tying a knot on front.
  • Cut green satin ribbon and wrapped it around tag several times, tying in a bow on front.
  • Using red and green pigment ink pads, lightly inked around frame so color would be somewhat evenly dispersed.
  • Edged both inside and outside edges of frame with Stickles 'Platinum'
  • When Stickles was dry, trimmed clipart and glued to back of frame, then glued eyelet lace to back of frame.
  • Glued decorated frame onto tag, then glued red ribbon bow to bottom of frame.
  • Attached ribbon and tassel to hole at top of tag.

And that is it!  A very fun project, and a gift tag so pretty that you don't even need a bow on the package!  I hope you've enjoyed your visit today, please come back soon!  Blessings, Becky

PS!  And be sure to come back soon as I have a wonderful giveaway coming up that includes a CSN Stores gift certificate AND some of my hand made Christmas goodies (crafts) left over from the craft show!

Tuesday Taggers challenge this week was to use a house on your project, and if you'll look closely, there's an English cottage type house on the lampshade in the image.  And the sponsor for this week's TT challenge is The Craft Barn, a wonderful craft store in the UK.

Here is my card based on the challenges . . .

  • Patterned paper is Pink Paislee, 365 Degrees collection 'Daydream'
  • Blue pearls are Prima e Line

Another Challenge Project - Tuesday Taggers and Everything But The Kitchen Sink

Hi Folks!  I've been playing a lttle bit today, and this project is for two challenges . . .

Everything But The Kitchen Sink's challenge is to make a project using a boxtop or the cardboard from a box, and

Tuesday Taggers challenge was to make a tag with a Teddy Bear theme.

Here is a collage picture of the product I used.  An old icecream cone box.  Top is both sides before, and bottom is both sides after I cut the tag out on my Cricut.

And here is my tag . . .

I apologize for the bad pics, but I got this finished after dark and took it inside.  Here are a few spotlight pictures . . .

Here is all the info . . .

Product Info:
  • Patterned paper is from a very old MME Wild Asparagus stack
  • Lace and burgundy ribbon are from my stash
  • Braided trim from Dollar Tree wedding crafts
  • Grey rhinestones are from Basic Grey bling-it
  • Burgundy pearls from Prima 'e.' line Pearls and Crystals
  • Teddy Bear sticker from K&Co. Grand Adhesions
  • Crown Rub-on from Melssa Frances
  • 'Remember' rub-on from a very old set from Walmart

Cricut Info:
  • Base of tag, and patterned paper cut on Plantin SchoolBook, 'tag1' set at 5 1/2 inches
I must say this isn't my usual 'style', but it was fun to make, and a good excuse to use the teddy bear sticker I've had for ages.  It's a new week, so I hope everyone has a great one.  Blessings, Becky
